Discover Europe 2009 : The NANYANG MBA participates in the highlight of the event : the DEBATE

The annual European cultural and business fair, organized by the Europe Center, was held on 13 Oct 2009, at the Nanyang Auditorium. The Business Schools of three leading universities in Singapore: NTU ,NUS, and SMU will gather for a debate on a motion of particular relevance after the global financial crisis. The debate will be judged by a distinguished panel with representatives from the European Commission, City Developments Limited and ING, the Dutch Financial conglomerate, and, moderated by Ms Claire Chiang, former NMP and Chairperson of Banyan Tree Global Foundation. The NANYANG MBA represented NBS , with July 2009 intake Hendrik Cluver and Marcus Kuhn, on opposing camps in the debate entitled “Corporate Social Responsibility is the key to a competitive European Union?”
52% of a some 400 strong audience gave the thumbs up to the motion "CSR is the key to a competitive European Union". They, together with the distinguished judges, voted for the proposition team supporting the motion.
