The NANYANG MBA supports the Yellow Ribbon Run 2009
6 September 2009
Staff and students of The NANYANG MBA supported the Yellow Ribbon Project in its inaugural Yellow Ribbon Run 2009 last Sunday morning (6 Sept 2009). The Yellow Ribbon Project aims to unlock ex-offenders from a ‘second prison’ – the societal prison of suspicion, mistrust and discrimination; the stigma of having been incarcerated.
Decked out in The NANYANG MBA red tops, the team of 20 ran the 5.8km route that started just outside Changi Village, meandered past the Johore Battery, Changi Chapel Museum, Changi Beach and ended at the new Changi Prison Complex, where a carnival was held at the prison’s main field. All 6000 participants were treated to performances, refreshments and an exhibition to better understand the Yellow Prison Project.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister For Defence, Mr. Teo Chee Hean was also present to campaign encouragement for all ex-offenders to start afresh and convey the message that what matters most is not about the fall, but how one gets up that counts.
The NANYANG MBA values strong support for Social Responsibility.
