| MBA Tour Scholarship [Peter & Alice von Loesecke Scholarship Foundation] |
|
The MBA Tour has established a scholarship foundation called the “Peter and Alice von Loesecke Scholarship Foundation”. The purpose of The Foundation is to award two (20,000 USD) scholarships each year to a candidate who best exemplifies the criteria for the award and continues to demonstrate during their MBA studies an interest in pursuing those objectives for which the scholarship was awarded. Each year The Foundation will announce the criteria for which the scholarship is awarded. The award criteria will be socially motivated to include:
- A desire to return to a home country to grow a family business and create employment
- A desire to create a socially responsible entrepreneurial venture (e.g. micro lending, basic health care delivery in poverty stricken rural areas)
- A desire to work for an international lending organization providing loans for projects in developing countries
- A former volunteer or employee of a public service organization (e.g. veteran of the armed forces, peace corps volunteer, or an NGO)
To Apply/ Eligibility:
- Applicants are eligible if they attended one of the MBA Tour events after July 2008 and have been accepted to a university they MET at the event.
- Applicants must ask the university they plan to attend to nominate them for the scholarship by printing their scholarship ticket through The MBA Tour website and sending it to their university (Login to your MBA Tour profile and select "Request your Scholarship Ticket").
- Applicants can only submit their ticket to ONE university and a university can only nominate ONE candidate for the scholarship.
- Any university participating in an MBA Tour event is eligible to nominate an applicant for a scholarship. However, the student MUST have attended the event in which the university participated.
- Once a school has identified a candidate to nominate who the school thinks best meets the scholarship criteria, the university must then submit to The Foundation the candidate’s name, a resume in English, the scholarship nomination form, and the scholarship ticket submitted by the student.
- To qualify for a nomination, the candidate must be already accepted by the school. The Foundation will consider only one candidate per school and one school per candidate. Should two or more schools nominate a candidate; The Foundation will disqualify the candidate. If a student elects to attend a school other than the one from which he or she were nominated, they will no longer be eligible for the scholarship.
- After the deadline for nominations, The Foundation will announce semi-finalist candidates who will be asked to complete an application. The Foundation will also notify candidates who were not selected as semi-finalists. The application will ask the candidate to demonstrate their qualifications and interests in the award criteria. After a review team has evaluated the applications from nominees, The Foundation will announce finalists for the scholarship. The Foundation may also ask candidates for an interview before it announces finalists. Finally, The Foundation will award the scholarship directly to the school and may elect to stage award payments based on the recipient’s continued demonstration of the award criteria.
Interested applicants who fit the eligibility criteria, please email mba.admissions@ntu.edu.sg to indicate their wish to be nominated.
