Venture Capital Investment Competition 2010

Calling all The NANYANG MBA students!

We welcome you to take part in the Asian leg of the Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC), held at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad in January 2010.

Unlike common business plan competitions in which students pitch their own ideas to investors, at VCIC, the students are the investors, and real entrepreneurs pitch to them. In this creative turn of tables, a very powerful learning experience is presented to both parties. At the end of the day, students learn (and win cash prizes), entrepreneurs connect with investors and venture capitalists get an early peek at some viable deals.

The winner of the Asian round will have to compete with 8 other winners from top MBA programs across the world, in the Global VCIC competition to be held in April 2010 at Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina, USA.

Students are to form at least one team of 5 participants.

Please register HERE before 7th October 2009.

-Defining the consumer’s needs when purchasing mobile music services and their usage
-Mapping the consumer’s journey
-Defining the optimized consumer offering
-Defining the right channel for the consumer offerings

Cash prizes of $1500, $1000 and $800 would be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

The 2010 John Molson MBA International Case Competition

The 2010 John Molson MBA International Case Competition has attracted 5 teams from The NANYANG MBA, who will have to challenge each other in an audition this weekend, before the best team is picked to compete against the top business schools from around the world, next January, in Montreal, Canada.

Recognised as the largest competition of its kind, it aims to bridge the gap between corporate and academic worlds, which ultimately enriches both students and executives alike.

More than two hundred senior business executives serve as judges, using their unique backgrounds, experience and perspectives to critically assess the participants' presentations. Teams are judged on creativity, insight, substance and plausibility of implementation.

Students were encouraged to form groups made up of varied nationalities and functions as this would allow for a wider range of perspectives and analyses during the competition.

More details of the competition can be found on www.mbacasecomp.com
